A little history
Gummun Place Hostel was built by locals and is located on land donated by a local resident.
Opened in 1994, it is, in every sense of the word, a community asset.
A community asset
In late 2024 the future of Gummun Place Hostel became a major issue brought on by the Council who issued an Expression of Interest (EOI) seeking submissions for external parties to either:
- manage Gummun Place Hostel
- lease Gummun Place Hostel
- purchase Gummun Place Hostel.
A few facts
Gummun Place Hostel is an aged care facility approved for 16 beds with private ensuites in all rooms.
The hostel accommodates singles and couples.
There are two sittings rooms with tea and coffee making facilities
The facility allows for respite as well as permanent residents.
Surrounded by expansive gardens with barbecue facilities, the hostel is set on a large block.
